Bow stop for aluminum v-hull

I have a relatively new boat and trailer setup (bought in December of last year) and I’m concerned with how the boat rests on the bow stop. I feel like the spool is too small to do it’s job. I also don’t like that if the spool broke the hull could make contact with the steel bracket that holds it in place. I included a picture of how it looks.

Besides that the winch stand is also off center by a half inch and the winch strap hook eats into the spool every time tow the boat. I tried to center it but there is no wiggle room with the u-bolts. So that’s an entirely different problem. Does anyone one have any better solutions or suggestions on how the boat rests on the spool?

Look in the oboats store or West Marine, you should be able to find large V type bow stop, it's all one piece and should bolt in the current location.

Out of curiosity, what brand boat is that? I've never seen an aluminum boat in that shape where the bow eye is.

Thanks for the reply. The boat is a 1756 Alweld marsh series v-hull. What’s you opinion on the bow eye placement?

What kind of trailer is that? that bow roller mount looks like some of the old EZ loader trailer roller mounts and if it is, then it is missing a part of it, I have an EZ and there is a two piece upright that has two bow rollers mounted one goes above the eye and one below the eye when set up properly and the winch strap goes between the rollers.

I would suggest maybe to look at doing something like what I have on my EZloader trailer because of the type of keel you have on that boat. This is what one of my trailers has and it works quite well, like I was explaining in my earlier message about the double roller.

It would be easy to do, pick up a piece of 1" wide 3/16" strap steel, then drill on a drill press or even a hand held drill. Mine has two 1" bolts with jamb nuts on them and then one 1/2" bolt 4" long with jamb nut and the double roller or bow stop allows the bow eye to go between the rollers/stop.

One of the guys I worked with mentioned the double roller bow stop as well. Won’t I end up with the same problem with how the boat rests on the rollers? Should the roller be wider so the boat doesn’t rest in the gaps like it does now?
