bought used honda 4 stroke, how can i find out its yr??

Hello<br /> I bought a used 7.5 4 stoke honda out board 144 cc, B75 serial #2002632. I there some one out there that could give me a clue as to how old my engine may be. Oh, another question, what grade of gas should I use, what wieght of motor oil and lower gear oil should I use for this motor?<br /> Thank you in advance, Have a nice coming up "Vet Day" Ed

Don't know why no one's answered you, you can download an owners manual from <br /><br /> http://www.honda-marine.com/mar_pages/bf75hp.htm <br /><br />Haven't looked for your serial number but they're listed and the manual may tell you the year. It will surely answer your service questions. Happy hunting.

The S/N you mentioned brings up a manual with a date of 1973 on it. Your engine is likely to be made that year, or shortly thereafter. I had one on a sailboat around that time, always started on first pull... good luck with it.

Look on the spark plug wires. you will see a year stampped on the jacket.
