Welcome to my first post !
Here's the deal. I just got a new(to me) 1990 Nitro 16'5 with no motor and I mounted my 78(?) 85hp Javelin on it. The model number on the motor is 85ETLR78C, and it is heavy! Next time I'll have some friends come over or use a lift... anyway I'm having a problem hooking up the wiring. The wires from the Nitro's controls terminate into a 5 prong plug and the old motor has a remote solenoid setup that does not have said plug. The solenoid box has 5 wires going in to it and I would assume that this is where the control wires will connect. However.... assuming has caused me to start electrical fires before so I figured I'd ask here first. Am I on the right track or should I go ask expert advice from the expensive people ? Is there anything else I should know ? Thanks !
