Hey guys,
I bought my first boat this week for $900 on craigslist. I had my marine mechanic inspect the boat prior to the sale and he said it was a good deal and I'm pretty happy about it as I was hoping not to spend too much money on it.
It is a 1978 CalGlass runabout boat with a Mercury 1150 (tower of power) outboard engine. It has been sitting since '07 and needs a bit of work before it's water ready. So far it has passed the compression test (80-90 per cylinder) and it has also passed the lower unit pressure test. I took it home from the mechanic on Friday last week but for some reason I am unable to start it up (99% sure it's user error :facepalm as it's my first boat and I have no manual on how to start it. My mechanic friend will be coming over soon to teach me the ways of the waves...
There a few stuff I got to do soon:
Hopefully I can get it out while the weather is still good here in Washington but I'm hoping not to dump too much cash in to her. So far for just the accessories/licensing I'm at $1300..

There a few stuff I got to do soon:
- Rebuild carbs
- Rebuild fuel pump
- Clear out old gas tank in bow
- Re-wire everything as nothing on the dash works
