Hey folks

So, in preparation for winterizing this year (hopefully not for a couple of months yet), I purchased an alignment tool. I bought it used, and the seller included two other pieces which I don't know what they are for. Can you all tell me what they are?

Its two disks; one is black metal and attaches to the alignment tool with a hex screw. The other is alumium (I think). Here is a picture.

The black metal disk is attached to the alignment tool. The shiny metal disk is sealed in a bag.

Any help would be appreciated.

i believe the alignment tool has a mandrel for driving in a new bearing on it. the other part in the bag i think is for installing an oil seal over the gimbal bearing. i've seen those tools for sale, but never used them. can't remember the web site that has information on them, but i'll post it if/when i do.

google around a bit and i think you'll find more information on them.

It's for installing a gimbal bearing. The black disk is positioned designed on the type of drive you have as the tool can be used for alphas, bravos and even some others.

Do some googling for setting up the disks if you think you want to use it for the gimbal install but you might just want to use the alignment bar for that purpose and use other tools for the gimbal installation.

Yes the black piece is for installing the gimble bearing and the other for the seal.

Thanks for the information, guys. I just wanted the alignment tool. I have no reason to suspect the gimbal bearing may be failing or in need of replacement, but its good to know that if/when I would need to do that, I already have some of the "special tools" that the manual always seems to mention.
