Bought a PS3 for ME!!!!

A little back ground on this story:
I have 2 girls 17-19.
The oldest is out and has her own place. As of 2 weeks ago...
The youngest has no more school sports, and is now in drivers training and that is paid for.
I decided it was time i bought me something.
I went with a PS3 for many reasons, not the least the netflix downloads and it can interface with my home server for movies and so on.
So i got it home and hooked it up after work, (about 10:30 PM i work 2nd) this took a couple hours for all the internet stuff and im not the fastest learner in the world.
Anyway, i popped in a game and sat down to play a bit before bed ( 01:30 am now) and just as the game was loaded.......BAM the TV took a poop...
Maybe it was due, 12 years old is forever in TV years.
So come saturday its off to the store for a new 65"..
I guess im getting 2 new things now.....

Oh I would be soooo bent!
Ive been gaming with my daughter and nephews for years..
Nephews used to come over to the apt on the weekends and Uncle let em stay up as long as they wanted too....Madden NFL...NFL Blitz...every zombie shooter that came down the pike..
We currently have the PS2, which is cool enough for me, but Diane wants the Wii for the yoga and active games..
Maybe..As long as I can shoot something I am happy!

Make sure that the new tv is high def. You will want to take advantage of the Blue Ray player that is with the PS3 not to mention that the games are so much better in high def.

There aren't many games on the Wii that allow you to shoot. Nintendo is made for the younger group and even when they have the games that allow it they are not as good. We currently have an XBox 360, Wii, and two PS3's. My youngest turned 12 and the Wii didn't have the type of games he liked so he got a PS3.

Yeah, enjoy! I just finally broke down and got a PS3 too. I sat in front of the TV mesmerized by Call of Duty Modern Warefare 2 in Hi Def for hours. It's an amazing piece of machinery.

My son wanted PS3 with Call of Duty and Madden 10. Santa obliged. Hooked it up Christmas day and I am hooked as much as he is! These are not your father's video game systems. A large screen HD, 7.1 surround sound system, and bluetooth communications make the experience something else!!!! All of a sudden I'm 12 years old again for a couple hours...

Ok, so i didnt wait til saturday.
Went out this morning and bought a 65" LED LCD 1080p 240htz
And I bought a 47" 1080p plasma for the bed room.
The store gave me 50% (of the cost + 10%) off on 2 wall mounts and 2 HDMI cables and one PC cable for free.
I had a hard time getting all of it in my truck to bring them home...LOL
I had bought one of those key card things from the youngest kid, they sell them for school. It had a thing in it for the store at cost plus 10%. I got all that stuff for less than the retail price of the big TV. Thats the best 20 bucks I have ever spent.
Cant wait to get home from work to drill a bunch of holes in the walls for the mounts and cables... im gonna be up all night...


Kev: As long as I have something to shoot. Now thats funny right there.

I have head that Call of Duty is fun. I may have to try it out.

I have a PS2 and over 20 different racing games. It's some much easier ( and cheaper ) getting my adrenaline fix from racing from the comfort of my house that spending big bucks at the track.

My only disappointment is that some of the guys over at corvette forum have started a racing league but it on the XBox 360 platform. I don't have an "extra" $400 for another gaming rig.

My son plays Call of duty on line. He says its way better than just playing the game. Hes good at it. The fun thing for him is the fact he can play his older brother "15hour away" and with the blue tooth they can chat.

I get more use out of my PS3 than I've gotten out of any gaming system since I had an Atari 2600. It's by far, IMO, the best all around system on the market.

Check out PlayOn. You can pick it up pretty cheap & it's better than the Netflix CD + you can run much more through it.

If you have a Harmony remote for you entertainment system then I would suggest picking up a Nyko for the usb adapter. If you don't have a Harmony remote, & you have a lot of components, then you need to add that to the list.

BUY FALLOUt 3!!! Probaly the best game I ever played. I'm olayin git again because i bought the Game Of The Year edition with 5 addons and I couldnt find my old files.
