It has not batteries and I have no idea what to use? It has bottom paint on it and I would like to put a fresh coat on it anything in specific I need to use or do? I also would like to wet sand and buff it, I assume this is the same process as doing a car which Ive done lots of. It has sat for 2 years dont know how much fuel is left in it what do recommend to make sure it has nice fresh gas when I first try to fire it?
Thanks

hi miller......welcome to iboats !

use a deep cell marine battery.
as far as the bottom paint......you can look here on iboats for an bottom paint....

if you wish to boat in fresh water and trailer your boat....you dont need bottom paint......this can be sanded off.

as far as wet sanding the gellcoat.....

i would just start at 400 dry....then go progrssively to 1500 dry.....then buff with a good marine polish.
doiung a bot is not like doing a car.....it is totally different, gellcoat is not paint.....but pigmented fiberglass resin....and a totally different reaction to finsih products

I'm with oops! If your going to trailer the boat, bottom paint is overkill. As for how to fix the gas, drain it and start with fresh! Don't forget to add your ethanol treatment and oil if required!

I agree with most of what oops says but I would not sand dry. Wet sand paper tells me better what it is doing by how it feels. Your boat doesn't have clear coat. The gel coat on a boat is way thicker than car paint so you should be able to get back to shiny without fear of sand through.
I did this myself last spring, got compliments all summer cause my 23 year old hull looks shiny new.

How much fuel is in there. Sniff it. If it smells like gas just run it out. If it smells like varnish get it out so you don't run it into the filter, pump & carb. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure every time.
Your boat probably has a spin-on fuel water separator filter. Buy 2. Change 1 right away and the other after you have run the tank a bit. If you are curious you can dump the contents in a clear jar each time to see what the separator caught, I would recommend doing that. Don't reuse the filters.
Have fun, those Scorpions have a good ride, I bet you'll have a great time.

Forget the bottom paint for now............. get the mechanical part sound, check the structure for rot (transom, deck and stringer's), then work on the rest.

You should really make a punch list and work on the real important first.......... then the cosmetics, then repaint the bottom........ which also follows maintaining the trailer too.
