boston whaler or see doo jetboat?

if money was the same which would you rather have. I have a jet ski and use it on the detroit river but mostly in semi protected waters. i am looking at jet boats having decided against rib dingies and would value any advice.

Question is very vague; there are many different models of Whalers and SeaDoo jet boats... Big difference between a mid/late 90's Sea Doo jet boat and the ones from the last few years, too.

What years and models are you looking at?

Completely different functions, each has advantages over the other, as well as weaknesses... yep, as spoils said, more info. In addition to what models, what are you planning on using it for? How often, what conditions, how many people, and what activities? Slipped or trailered?

i used to PWC and had a jet boat as well............

now own a fishing rig, best thing i ever did.............

see doo engines are extremely temperamental, and reliability is well, let's just say CARP!!!!!

2 adults on detroit river seeing 1995-1997 of jet boats on craigslist. since the whaler sold i guess i am looking for suggestions on which jet boat is best. sea doo, 4 winns, sugar sand or other sea ray or regal ? and is 115 omc
enough power.?

I'm sure he was....and lots of folks refit those with outboards - the Whalers... not the other brands.

To OP, realize jet boats use a LOT of fuel. Spin on a dime, quick, but $$$ to feed.

Ya I'd forgotten about those jet Whalers. (For good reason.) Now that I think about it I believe I did a cushion job on one awhile back. Had a 90 or mebbe a 120 Merc jet drive in it. Don't 'member which. Pos either way imo. Owner didn't have much nice to say about it either. Just tryin to polish the turd so he could sell it.
