Boosting 9.8hp on new motor

Is there anything that can be done to the 2008/2009 Tohatsu 9.8hp motor to get additional HP out of it. We have alot of 10 hp lakes but it would be nice to have a little extra umph for larger bodies without having to buy another motor.

The 9.8 is already the "big brother" of the 8. This is unlike the old 9.9 which was the detuned "little sister" of the 15. You can make an 8 work like a 9.8, but you can't turn a 9.8 into a 15.

Mine performs as well as any 9.9, and better than most. They key to the best output is proper operating conditions. Run fresh fuel, and make sure that you have the best prop for the application. Then sit back and enjoy.
