I live too close to Bonnaroo to enjoy it.

Try living 2 miles away.... We'll probably pack up on Thursday night and head to the lake for the weekend. We have lots of friends that go but they spend nights here to crap and shower.

This thread confirms that my age is reversely proportional to my recognition of the current popular artists/bands. I only recognize 11 on the list.

Never heard of it. I must be old. But sounds like fun.

Wish I could go. I'm getting tired of having responsibilities.

The event looks to be well organized and attended. How long has it been going on?

Will update you on our "Summerfest" when they announce the lineup.

I was actually at the very first one when it was called Itchycoo (or however Brad spelled it). It took 'em a few years to get off the ground. It's just too busy / crazy down there for me now.

I hear it is very good for Manchester though, financially. I can't imagine that Murfreesboro doesn't pick up a few bucks outta' that either.

Re: Bonnaroo 2014

actually a lot of local businesses don't like it because us residents stay home or go out of town.

Really its not too bad now - I've only lived here for 5 years so don't know about the early years which was supposed to be horrid traffic, but not not too bad. They opened the gates Thursday morning last year (a day early) I hear it was better.

... still not much kindly said about it up here. I avoid going SE like the plague while it's going on. Even our exits up here get overwhelmed. We'll have people sleeping in cars and trying to use the gas station bathrooms to clean up each day.

I'm starting to sound like a grumpy old man about it: #@ratza!?!kratzin' kids and their loud music!! :D

I'm up at 81 - Church Street / Shelbyville. HWY 96 is where our gypsy camp is, though the Wally world over on Rutherford doesn't look too far off. It'll be interesting to see what the parking lots of the distribution centers on Joe B. Jackson look like this year.

Re: Bonnaroo 2014

oh yeah that about where that really bad wreck was last year. I think that's about where the highway looses two lanes. I try bot to go to wally world at all but at 'Roo time I do just to see the madness.

We're at 110 just north of the madness and wally world is at 114 on the south end of the madness.

You're just down by the Outpost. Didn't realize we were that close, I thought you were closer to Manchester. Half a chance we've already met somewhere around town.

That wreck last year was with the big rig, I think. It was pretty ugly. Yeah, 24 looses a lane there and then one more just a little further SE. Wrecks at the Southbound Exit on 231 are a daily occurrence.

Re: Bonnaroo 2014

actually that's 89, I'm the first manchester exit.

Best to stay off the highway the opening and closing days. I think there was actually two fatals involving 'roo people
