Re: Bondo this is for you

Hi Redman,
Sorry i missed your other post....
It depends on "How Well Dressed", you want it....
I'll head out to the garage,+ pull the head off... Just to make Sure my memory serves me correctly... I'm pretty certain that all it needs are a set of new pistons,+ rings... had Major problems with the last couple sets from NAPA.... I think they had a bad lot of 181cid pistons...
Lets Start the negotiations at $500. For the long block, with the sheet metal(oil pan, valve cover, timing cover)... NO merc. assesories(alt.,carb.,manifolds,flywheel cover, motor mounts, etc.)

hello Bondo, I really just need a bare block. but im not sure at this time. I did not have time to see if that was the problem for sure. Winter stop me from going up to camp and finishing the inspection of the block. But im pretty sure that its cracked. Would you be interested in selling just the block? Also what state are you located in? IM in western pa. Redman

Re: Bondo this is for you

OK Redman, you got it..... I pulled it apart sunday... Cyls. 2,3 + 4 are in perfect shape.... as they Should be, Blew up on it's 1st oil change after rebore, rebuild... #1 on the other hand took a pretty good scrape... it'll need to be bored,+ sleeved...
it's a clean freshwater block.. no cracks or other problems..
How about the bare block, with the crankshaft(bearings are new)... that way you won't need to align bore it to match your crank.... And i'll leave the cam, timing gears,+ cover.. nothing wrong with them... you know how hard it is to slip that cam all the way down that block, without nicking a cam bearing....
I'll bolt it on a pallet for $200. or you can come get it for $150...
my address is at the bottom of my posts...
email is on my profile.....

Hi Redman,
I thought you could get my email from my profile, but i guess you can't... Anyway..bondo@gisco.net
Yes, by truck... Yellow,+ ABF are local for me... It's ALOT cheaper if you ship Terminal to Terminal....
No hurry, it sets in my back barn... Get your truck fixed, run out to camp,+ Check one more time to be sure.. i'm Not going to throw it away...
