Hi folks. I'm new to this forum and have a question regarding my motor. The boat is a 2002 16' Boston Whaler Dauntless with a new Honda 90. When taking off from a stand still, I have to ease the throttle slowly to WOT. If I give it full throttle quickly, it will bog and die out. It does this with a smaller pitch prop too. The dealer said this is ok but I don't think so. I've owned 2 stroke motors and have not had this problem before. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

My buddy bought one of the 90's when they first came out and the problem you are having was present then. They changed carbs, adjusted valves, and finally said they thought it was the nature of the beast. It is a very cold natured engine. After a year on fiddling he traded up to a 4 stroke Evinrude (Suziki) and all is fine. I might add it ran perfect except for that flaw.

Don't know if this info is still good to you but anyway...<br />I have same engine with same problem ( or at least I did)but only when I run my 19" prop. There is an adjustment but mt mechanic takes care of it. I imagine it has something to do with accelerator pump. It is NOT the nature of the beast.
