Which one is better? We'll be down for 5 days this 4th of july. Plus were planning on making some more trips. Just want to be covered in case we need a tow. Don't feel like shelling out several thousand dollars if something happens

I have Tow Boat US because I have seen their boats on the water 10 to 1 over SeaTow's.

The local Tow Boat US operator has 3 locations that he runs out of.

• North East
• Havre De Grace
• Chesapeake City

I don't know where SeaTow is based out of. I decided to go with Tow Boat US because I figured for the area I mostly always boat, they would have the fastest response time.

On a side note, maybe we should all get a raft-up going for one of the firework displays or something.

To Anyone that needs to use the boatus membership needs to know :

Boatus offer you free towing even if the boat isn't yours ...BUT BUT BUT, only if the boat owner isn't in the boat .... tow guy will ask you to call the main number where they will ask you in many different ways if you are the boat owner or if the owner is present ...


Of course they never tells you that if the boat owner is present and doesn't have a membership yours is unusable ,

When i use to to boat the upper chesapeake alot i decied to go with a towing plan and did alot of reasearch boat us has more contractors in that area , i dont think you can find a seatow until you are in virginia......i still use boat us, and im glad i have it....seatow is more popular in the southern states,down there they out number boat us. I pay over 170 a year but i think its worth it...no matter what body of water im in they will help, that includes towing of my boat trailer if needed.

I boat NJ, Delaware and Virginia. Seatow is big in very southern NJ, but when I did some research, I realized that BoatUS made more sense since I also spend time in the Chessie. Both have a presence, but I have mental notes that BoatUS made more sense for the DelMarVa peninsula waters.

I agree with all above comments, and have been with BoatUS for a while now. Ultimate peace of mind.

Lime - Curious if you got any insurance or not. I know you had some engine trouble while down and didn't know if you needed a tow or not. Maybe supernova helped you out.

Let us know if you did use someone and if you were happy with thier service.

I have boatus didn't need to use them thou. We left the northeast river up by the nauti goose back to rogue harbor. Which took just over 3 hrs. Next time i'll call boatus..lol

I saw a boatus towboat in stillpond yesterday. tied up to a pier, with nobody around it so I guess they even more than they have online.

Interesting, and good to know that they aren't too far off.

While I was down over July 4th weekend, I came across a 23' Yamaha jet boat with about 7 college kids on it. This was about 8:30 or so in the evening, just starting to get dusk. They had run out of gas down near Turkey Point and wanted a tow back to Nauti Goose.

They claim that they called Seatow but been unable to reach anyone. I gave them Towboat U.S. phone number and they were coming right out with gas. I thought about hanging around to see how much it was, but i choose not to.
