Good afternoon all,

I did a quick search but didn't find much on this topic. Anyone have a suggestion on a good beginner boating reference book or DVD?

I'm still relatively new to boating, read all the safety books, took the safety classes, and read the Idiot's Guide To... I'm relatively handy, but admittedly don't know much about engines and such. I don't need to be able to do major repairs, but it's obviously a good idea to be able to do some trouble shooting. Any suggestions?

135 Mericruiser, 18 ft open bow, inland lake use.

Thanks!

Buy the service manual for your motor/outdrive. Available at a decent price on the web including here at iboats.

i agree, but get the mercruiser service manaul. it's much better. join yer local power sqadron. they got a class called boat maint. of all things. it's pretty good and give you many basic ideas about how yer boat works and how to maintain it. it is not a mfg. specific class...
