Ok, so we all know the right way to boat: be safe, have our favorite cold beverage, and generally chill out.

Now: how about some posts of what not to do. I will start below:

I do, his transom mount was not secured correctly, I have actually saw this happen at the ramp a couple of times.

Hold on....................does that motor look like it is on there backwards? and it looks like it has been drove into the transom?

Am I seeing what I really think I am seeing?

:faint2:

Not backwords.......The Lower Unit is BENT under the transom. and is BURRIED into the base of the transom and hull. Took a LOT OF FORCE to pull that one off.

I and I emphasize (I) left the keys to the boat at the house last weekend.:censored: We were an hour away from the house.:mad-new: It was 89? lying in the floor of the boat trying to get it hot wired.:frusty: I've never had so many people ask me what was wrong, and then proceed to tell me they never forget their keys because they leave them in the ignition all the time. I told the last guy who told me that to leave his boat parked at the ramp for a few minutes, and I'd just borrow his for the day.:laser:

Funny nobody else at the ramp seemed to be interested in giving me boat key advice after that exchange.:heh:

I did get the boat started eventually. The first mate ( My 16 year old step son who thinks he knows more about life than all adults combined) did catch a nice small mouth.

When we took the plug out after we got the boat loaded there was about 5 gallons of water that came out of the bilge.:faint2::mmph: We get home and I find there is a rivet missing below the water line, and my automatic bilge pump's float got stuck by an errant wire. First time out this season and we nearly sink. Should have just gone home and mowed when I realized I left the keys at home.

Oh and yes the keys to the boat are now in the ignition. Permanently!:D

I don't leave mine in the ignition, but I do put one duck taped tot he side of the hull, under the transom, so I don't wast time, if I forget it.

There is also a key on my wife's and my car key ring, just in case.
