A couple of weeks ago we had several posts regarding "basic" "?" seamanship and I enjoyed them very much.

I guess I will try my hand.

What are the wind conditions required to have the Coast Guard post small craft warnings?

I believe its issued when winds are over 20 knots, and not issued by the Coast Guard, but by the National weather service..

I know I own one, but what is considered to be a "small craft"?

Why, just the other day I was issued a small craft advisory. I guess the wife was concerned with the motion in the ocean :D

I believe it is any winds expected to be 20-knots and above, but less than 35-knots, arriving within 1/2 day.

For advisory purposes, a small vessel is anything you think it is. If you think your boat is small, it is…even if it’s the size of an aircraft carrier.
