can anyone identify this boat? there is now HIN plate. its a sunray , and im looking for the year and model of it. it has a 3.0 stringer inboard outdrive on it.
its not stolen. lol. i know the seller personally and he bought it from another reputable person, whom we both know, and the owner before him , may have takin it off or something. the guy i bought it from is going to be asking the original owner about it. however i still would like to know if anyone else has a similair boat of this kind to shed a light on it. these numbers are off of engine rocker coverwithout a HIN, its most likely stolen.
the motor is a 1981-1984 OMC 3.0 / stringer 400
boat runs, stringers are ok floor is ok and so is transom, not sure the numbers on outdrive. will try to get pics of them in a few minutes.Picture of the outdrive ?----Model # of the outdrive ?----Do a complete evaluation of this boat ( stringers / floor / transom ) before spending any beer tokens on the engine / drive !!!

you have a 1984 OMC stringer 400. the 1981-1984 only came in one flavorits not stolen. lol. i know the seller personally and he bought it from another reputable person, whom we both know, and the owner before him , may have takin it off or something. the guy i bought it from is going to be asking the original owner about it. however i still would like to know if anyone else has a similair boat of this kind to shed a light on it. these numbers are off of engine rocker cover
ok so its an 84 , but put into a 85 boat. ? ok cool. thank you for that.you have a 1984 OMC stringer 400. the 1981-1984 only came in one flavor
there were no 1985 stringers as the plant was torn apart for making cobras, just left over 1984's in a warehouse put into some 1985 boats
you need the factory manual. only legal place to buy them. https://outboardbooks.com/ or your local OMC dealer (if there are any left)
only place to get parts for your Obsolete drive is http://sterndrive.info/
and why would you say this? stringers are ok. maybe obsolete, but the parts are more plentifull then you think. everyone is selling parts because they dont like em. more parts for us stringers. lol.......Just for it having a Stringer, is good reason to put some distance between you and it.
Try finding a lower shift cable, or a factory shim pack. Good luckand why would you say this? stringers are ok. maybe obsolete, but the parts are more plentifull then you think. everyone is selling parts because they dont like em. more parts for us stringers. lol.......

no islands for us. just cruisin and takin in the summer...... and lots of time, and alot of patience to find and wait on parts. when needed. lol. already have a line on parts. but not enough. gonna keep looking tho.If you have the time and know where to find parts it can be an economical boat.-----If you need the boat every weekend to get to an island it may not be the best choice.
