1998 Chris craft 210 open bow V/P 5.7. Turn key nothing. Gauges work but nothing happens when I turn the key to start. I checked the batteries and voltage was good. Check the voltage going to solenoid and was fine. Any other suggestions? Kill switch on, shifter in neutral, even moved it forward and backward a few times to make sure. Put screw driver across two large post on solenoid and got sparks. I'm out of suggestions. A boat guy said it might be the battery breaker but I've looked every where and don't see one on my boat. Please help!

Re: Boat won't start

Awesome info, thanks. I went through the progression as the thread said and determined it was the neutral safety switch by testing via bypassing it. I also tried it again without bypassing it and got it to start by putting it in forward but still in neutral until I found the sweet spot and then it cranked. Then it started up 4 times in a row while in true neutral. I assume I should just go ahead and replace the switch?

Could be nothing more than corroded or loose terminals or the switch is self is loose and doesn't always get activated. Did you look at it?

I haven't looked at the switch itself because I assume it will be difficult to get to. Is that true?
