boat won't start after warm up

Have an 87 SeaRay 3.0L Alpha One drive...It starts and restarts fine when on a hose in driveway (after warmup- 20 minutes...I made sure of that...When I went to lake yesterday It started OK at first..BUT...after pulling a tube for awhile and I tried to restart it....nothing..no click or anything!... I made sure my shift/throttle handle was in good position (outdrive disengaged)..I had to turn starter key back and forth a few times then starter would engage and engine start up fine....Is my shift interrupt switch sticking??? Just one thought that happened on our boat. The fuse bock is a little rusty and it was preventing the starter from even clicking.
