I have a 16 foot Tempest Bowrider and I am looking for a lift for it ( it has sunk twice at tube dock ) would anyone have a guess at the weight of the boat and motor?

Can't tell ya the weight but do you have a working automatic bilge pump? Is it just rainwater sinking it or is something leaking?

Yes I have an automatic bilge once it got caught under the dock before I got whips. The next time was just a giant storm on the lake and unluckily something got stuck in the impeller of the pump. Bad luck.

Does yours look similar to the 1 I linked

If so, you should be able to find an outboard weight online, add it to the 780lbs and go weigh your boat.

It’s older so I assume heavier. Thanks for the help

Well if you can't find the type boat and it's weight, you can always do a measurement of the waterline and with that and the width and length you can get pretty close using displacement numbers. No it won't be dead on, but pretty close to give you an idea with the engine on... JMHO

I don't think you need to be THAT close to pick out a boat lift. I would think anything with a 2000 lb capacity (not much when talking lifts) would handle it easily.

the cost difference between a 2000# lift and a 4000# lift is like $500

And that's not considering the fact there are 3000 lb lifts.....

Take your boat, trailer and tow vehicle to a scale. Weigh. Launch and tie off the boat. Back to the scale. Weigh again. The difference is your boat's weight.
