I started nosing around in Searay's archives on-line, and found the specs on my 1990 Searay 180. Mine has a 135-horse Merc outboard. The specs say the boat weighs in at about 1760 pounds dry, which seems surprisingly light. Does this include the motor or not? The inboard model's weight was considerably more (I think it was around 2300 pounds dry), which made me think the motor weight was included for the inboard model but excluded for the outboard model. Or is it just that an outboard weighs dramatically less?

Thanks in advance!

-dd-

Re: Boat Weight

I think you have it right .The outboard model dry weight is without engine and the inboard is with engine.

Re: Boat Weight

There is a difference of 540lbs between the two weights. Consider: a 135hp Volva Penta weighs in at 670lbs dry. A Mercury 135hp OptiMax weighs in at 430 lbs dry, a 240lb difference.

Ob is probably right.

NADA show 1725# for the closed bowrider, with the 135 OB motor included. 1,760# for the open bowrider, 135 HP OB motor included in that weight.

My 20 ft. Campion Explorer Sports Utility is 1690 lbs. and the Suzi 140 weights 410. Amazing how light it is compared to my (now sold) 19' Larson All-American with a 4.3 L I/B (2800)
