Boat vs trailer size

It is not recommended to put an 18 ft Searay on a 17 ft trailer, as the trailer may not be able to properly support the weight and size of the boat. This could result in the trailer being overloaded and potentially lead to safety issues while transporting the boat. It is best to use a trailer that is specifically designed and rated for the size and weight of your boat.

a 17 foot trailer is for a 14 or 15 foot boat

Since the difference is only 1 foot . . .

It would be best to get some measurements of the trailer (example: bow stop to end of bunks or rollers) vs. those same measurements of the boat, and the weight specifications of trailer vs. boat to see if the trailer would work.

Yep...gotta measure, boat needs supported all the way to the very back, if the boat hangs over the trailer it is not properly supported !!
