Hey guys.
Our 1999 SeaRay 185 has a bad #2 Cylinder.
The repair cost is prohibitive.
Any suggestions on how to value the boat at this point.
Thx!

depends on what caused the motor to go

and where you live

With the broken motor, about $1000 (less in some parts, more in others)
with good motor, in the $4k range

a $300 junkyard block and heads pulled from an S-10, install brass core plugs, marine headgaskets, swap over all the marine bits and installed in the boat could be done in a weekend.

I have to admit here in Tennessee: a 25 year old boat with a blown motor is a freebie. The trailer you can sell, and the stern drive could be sold on it's own. But all together, it's worth a couple hundred bucks to someone at the most.

Sorry: I know that's hard.
