Re: BOAT TRAILER QUESTION?

Whether a trailer and boat can be used together depends on several factors. First is boat weight. Just because the boat fits on the trailer doesn't mean its safe. If the two boats are very similar in weight, it should be ok. One foot in length will not make much difference. UNLESS the ski boat is an inboard in which case there is a very significant difference in weight. Tire size is the other consideration. Check the sidewall for the tires maximum load capacity at its maximum inflation pressure. The total of the two tires is the capacity of the trailer, boat, gas, gear, motor etc. There may also be a decal or sticker somewhere on the trailer that indicates its capacity.

You also need to make sure the bunks (assuming it's a bunk trailer) support the transom which means you may have to move the winch forward. If you have to move the winch make sure you have enough clearance so that it doesn't hit the bumper when you make turns.
