Well, it happened. I pulled my 19' bayliner off the hitch without locking the front wheel crank and the trailer crashed to the ground. Lucky for me the boat is not in danger of coming down. Unfortunately, I'm unable to move the boat at this point. Any suggestions for how I now get the front end of the trailer off the ground high enough to get the crank wheel locked in? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Stick an auto jack under the tongue and jack her up.

get a few buddy's to give you a hand? put some weight in the stern of the boat (past the axle)? slip a bottle jack under the trailer frame? i thought i'd have more...

Prob is, most boat trailers have axles fairly far back as that is where the weight is. You can't put weight usually more than 2 feet back. That is 2 foot pounds of torque. On a 19 foot boat, that leaves 17 feet in front. 17 foot pounds of torque. You would have to have more than 8 times the weight of the front 17 feet of the boat behind the axle. Just use the car jack and put a stand under it until you can make sure the dolly jack is safe.

Just use a car jack to lift it up. then set a jack stand under the tonge. Check and make sure the trailer crank is still ok.
