Can anyone tell me what length staples to use for the bunk board carpeting Im putting on my trailer? I know to use the Monel staples and I do use an Arrow T50 hand stapler. Im thinking about buying an electric stapler, looking at the arrow. Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Rick

i use the hand stapler. had electric, did not hold up long. 1/2 in is fine. you may have to drive them down with hammer.

I agree with TD about electric staplers. They don't last long. On the other hand if you have an air compressor, the staplers are quite inexpensive and really last a long time.

I have had the opposite experience with electric. I have had my electric stapler that shoots t-50 staples for about 10 years now. I've shot a lot of staples through that gun having used it to staple insulation in 2 houses I've built, along with countless other projects. Funny thing is that I most recently used it to staple some carpet on some bunk boards for my boat trailer.

I use 9/16" staples, mainly because the next size down was 1/4".
I also use a thick carpeting...regular leftover indoor carpeting.
I use a hand stapler because they seem to drive the best.
I had an electric stapler, two in fact, neither lasted long.
I have a n air stapler but it is too finicky.
