Boat purchase?(Sea Ray)

Hi guys. I'm considering 1996 Sea Ray, Signature Series 21ft With a 5.7 Mercruiser. I'm up here in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and i'm sure the pricing is a little different. He is asking $13,000 and from what I can tell its in pretty good shape. I haven't looked at it yet, but I want it for a good price. So maybe you guys could educate me with your wealth of knowledge. If the sea trial goes well and you like the boat, your price point warrants a professional marine survey and mechanical assessmant. Those are all the words of wisdom I have for ya.

Thanks for the response. Maybe some one that owns one could chime in. The boat in my signature is very easy on fuel. Most people panic when I tell them the boat I want to buy has a 5.7. Anyone give me some idea of what I can expect for fuel consumption.

Seems a bit high priced for a 15 year old boat. But if it's nice, I'm sure you will enjoy it the 4 months out of the year you guys get to boat up there.

Thanks for for that link to that thread. Very interesting. I think I will pay someone to look at the boat for me. I'm not interest in a repair like that. I haven't looked at it yet, I need to sell my boat first. Thanks again for the input.

I have a '95 Sea Ray 180BR with a 4.3LX and like it alot. It'a an 18 1/2 footer so a little smaller than what you're looking at and I paid less than half the price of what your looking at, in very good shape and about 165 hours. I don't know what boats cost in your area, so have it checked out and do your homework. They are very nice boats.
