boat pulling to the left

I just recently bought a 1972 StarCraft Capri 15 ft boat with a 1972 85hp Evinrude outboard on it. The old man who I bought it from said it pulled to the left when you took off. Well it pulls to the left when you take off and continues to pull to the left when at full throtell it has a whale tail on it is there anything I can adjust so that the boat runs straight?

Sure, move the tab (there a little fin on the casting and a bolt in the center) under the cav plate to port a little at a time until helm is neutral at WOT.

I am sorry I am new at boating and I don't know what WOT stand for? I figured out stbd stands for starboard. where is the cav plate is it at the bottom of the outboard

At the very back, bottom of your lower unit, looks like a upside down fin WOT = wide open throttle

I think I found it. Is it right above the prop. if so it is broken off can I replace that part?

pn 0313715 screw, and pn 0316981 trim tab are still available from any BRP dealer (they probably won't stock them). Aftermarket as well (Sierra, etc.)

thanks guy for all your help how would i find a brp dealer in my area or would I just look for a dealer for evinrude and johnson

Tab goes to port, not stbd. Sorry. But, you say you don't have a tab right now. In any case, more the tab in the same direction as the helm tendency.
