I was on my way home and seen a boat sitting out forsale. It's hull did not appear to have any damage, and had a complete engine on it. The floor was out, and the transom needed replacing. If the engine was running, any idea what the least i could get it sold for? I need the extra money to help fix MY boat, and the guy only wants seventy five bucks! I will get some pics next time i go by there.
Oh, also had the trailer that was in good shape. I would say atleast a 16 footer. I don't know the brand of the boat or motor yet. The fellow was not home, i spoke with his father.
Thanks

Re: Boat Price

Unless the next time you go by is soon I'd bet it will be gone. If it's aluminum it's probably worth that as scrap metal. I rarely pass up a trailer for $75, much less one with a boat/motor on it.

It's fiberglass, but it's been there for a couple weeks. Around here people don't really know what they have and what it's worth.

No one can put a price on it if you don't describe anything about it. But I would at least take it and dump the boat and sell the trailer. If the engine and lower unit are good then that might be a few more bucks...

I understand what you mean. I think it was an outboard 70 or 90. I'm not sure it will be worth the hassel. Like i said, i will get a pic tomorrow hopefully. Maybe it will me some ultra rare one of a kind boat :)

and maybe flying monkeys will shoot out my arse!:D lol

there are tons of boats in the Cleveland,TX ( NE of Houston)area. If he wants $75 that boat is probaly total junk-but the trailer & other parts maybe worth your effort.

Re: Boat Price

You could probably part it out for more than that. A prop here, outboard cowling there...as long as you have more time than you know what to do with, you could probably make a buck or two.

Sounds like one of those haul it away for free boats. Dont bother. Someone gave up on it for a reason. Will be like trying to part out a 56 DeSoto, your neighbors will love you. FRED

Re: Boat Price

Drop the boat off at the dump, sell the trailer. If the motor's a basket case, part it out. For $75 you can't go wrong.

Re: Boat Price

Agree, it has to be worth more then 75 no matter what, just the trailer will get you that, if the engine isn't trashed you might be able to put a couple bucks in it and seel or at least part it out, make sure the lower turns, that alone could get you $200-$300.

Even if the engine is trashed it is still mostly aluminum, a couple hours with a wrench will net you some good money and you will get to see how and engine is put togehter.
