For anyone looking for a small versatile powercsource
HF has the 3in1 jumper box on sale.
I use mine to power my air pump, and then power my fishfinder/gps/chart plotter.
it can also power my marine radio.
Have not tried a trolling motor yet.

It contains A 17ha battery which is good for 20 hours of 12v power
Best of all it is small, light weight and under $50

Re: boat power

That unit sounds fine for electronics, but it would not handle a trolling motor.

Re: boat power

Good to no
I don't use a trolling motor so I have been ok.
I originally got it to run my fish finder/gps
I started using it to pump up the boat after having to give somebody a jump start.

I wonder how much battery would be required to do everything needed on an inflatable

Re: boat power

The
reason jumper boxes are not good for trolling is because that battery is
designed to product a lot of energy for short periods of time aka
boosting car batteries. That is why people go for group 27-29 marine
barriers because they are balanced and produce power over longer periods
of time. But ultimately I agree that its the best 50 dollar power
supply for all of our gadgets. Gets annoying plugging up your pump to
the car battery and if your boat is not placed correctly wires won't
reach

I use anywhere from 12V 7 amp to 12V 18 amp batteries. These are motorcycle, ride on tractor, kids powered riders, and mobility scooter style batteries. They vary in size and weight from very portable to portable but with some heft. In and around 30 buck range but it's battery only the HF box gets you extras. Fish finder is not a huge current draw but if you use it for long periods it will drain down and ultimately likely shorten the life of the jump starter.
