I have 13ft. whaler Mariner 25hp 1995 og265091,short leg, prop.10x13 , have too many rpm ,very slow, too many cavitation ,some people said change prop. 2inch pitch more ,others put extension leg ,(lower unit) , braket . this propeller run even the hull, I need more speed & planing good. help me please

hey,<br /> does it have a set back transom? and how high above the bottom of the boat is the prop? u will need a long shaft if it isn't a setback transom

Hi, Selles.<br /><br />If your Whaler is a blue liner, 1972 or earlier, you need the 15" short shaft engine.<br /><br />Sounds like you have a short shaft on a 1973 or later Whaler, which needs a long (20") shaft.<br /><br />If that is the case you must put the engine on a lowering jackplate or change to a long shaft engine to get the AV plate even with the keel.<br /><br />Good luck.

the prop. have 3-4 inches below bottom of boat ,with prop.10x11 no running good

You need a long shaft engine, Selles.<br /><br />It is the anti-ventilation plate that must be level with the bottom.
