i have a 16 foot maxum with a 9.9. it seems to only to run abuot 7-8 mph is this normal or what could i do . would changing the prop help

If you boat maxum is aluminum you probably are at maximum speed. You may get a little more performance out of a high performance prop. You'll get a little more speed on plane with more weight in the fron of the boat, but again not that much.<br /><br />If it's a glas boat, you motor is probably too small.
