I have a brand new Suzuki 40 on my aluminum boat. It was professionally installed
With both battery terminals off, I have continuity between the large black wire and the hull of the boat.
Is this normal?
I thought nothing was supposed to be grounded to the hull.
thank you

Re: boat motor ground

Things are grounded to the engine and thru the mount it will be grounded to the hull.

Ayuh,... That's normal,...

Ya can't run a live wire to an accessory, 'n then let it take a ground path through the hull to the motor, to the battery...
The accessory Much have it's own ground to battery wiring...
