Boat mechanic help!! Please!

I have just recently bought a 1999 regal boat with a 4.3 gi fuel injected Volvo penta motor. It was running decent at first but now it dies when I don't give it gas while it's in neutral. I've replaced the starter, the idle sensor, the gasket on one side of the exhaust manifold, the thermostat, the tires on the trailer and the wiring on the trailer. I've spent most of the money I had saved up and now the boat won't run. I paid two "mobile marine mechanics" to look at it and they both gave me bs and unclear answers as to what it is. I'm really desperate. Someone help, PLEASE! Oh and I'm located in riverside ca someone close would probably be best.

Have you removed the flame arrester and watched to make sure you have fuel being injected? Could be a lot of things but do the basics of checking for spark and fuel.

Verify spark, fuel, and compression.

I took it to a shop although I really didn't have that kind of money to spend. I spent $1775 to change out the fuel injectors and it seems to be running well now, but the neutral button in the middle of the throttle lever sticks and I can't figure out what that is.
