Re: Boat Loader

Sears used to sell a "one Man boat loader" for boats like yours. It had a transom clamp that mounted on a 3' verticle pole bolted to the trailer hitch, and a single roof rack. The loading person would first place the transom in the clamp, and then grab the other end of the boat and walk around to the front of the vehicle and put it on the roof. You could use the setup, if you could find a way to have both the ball hitch and the one man loader installed. Since the loader mounted in the ball's hole, you might be able to drill another hole in the truck bumper to bolt the loader next to the ball hitch.

I had a Mazda GLC and and came into a 12' jon, I came up with a system that had a pole and swivel that mounted to the bumper, you would put the transom in that and strap it down then load up the boat.

Once everything was loaded you grabbed the front of the boat and swung it on top of the car and strapped it down.

I had seen them that carried the boat upside down but I wanted to be able to put everything, including my 9.9, in the boat.

I will see if I can find my drawing of that project, I know they are "somewhere" I jus need to remember where.

Unfortunately this predated digital cameras so I don't have any pics but I know I kept the blue print.
