Hello everyone, I've got a boat that I'm starting a restoration on for my father. In order to do the fiberglass, I need to know what kind of resin it was built with. It is titled as a 1969 MirroCraft and is about 17'10" from bow to stern. I pulled a Chrysler 440 out of it, but it had an M426 flywheel cover on it, so one of the two is not original. This boat had a jet drive on it, the only names I see on it are "Mopar", and Mopar Performance on the hull. Can anyone tell me what it is or anything about it? I haven't seed any MirroCraft like this before. It has a gold metal flake top half and brown lower half. Forgive me for no pictures, but this is my first post. Will get some elsewhere and then post.

Welcome to the iboats.com forum! The members here are great and can help you with any questions about your boat, motor or trailer. Chrysler Corp. was heavily invested in inboard marine engine manufacturing in the 1950's & 1960's so it is not surprising to me that you found a 440 motor in that great looking old boat. A quick look at Fiberglassics.com did not find any info that might help you with the boat ID. However, I recommend you do some searching over there for MirroCraft because the boat registrations are usually accurate. The link below will get you to the Chrysler Marine history page. Good luck!

Haha, well that is about what I expected. I've been searching for 2 weeks now for info on this boat. I've read the history of Chrysler Marine probably two times now. My problem is that I don't believe it to be a MirroCraft because MirrorCraft didn't make jet boats, let alone ones with giant 440's in them. They mainly used outboard engines. And being as there is no identifying plate on the hull of the boat, any old Tom, ****, or Harry could take a title from another boat they have or had and say it belongs to this boat. HIN's weren't standard until 1972, and can be easily removed. No guarantee the guy my father bought the boat from 20 years ago didn't do that exact thing. The only identifying mark between title and boat could be length, and this one is about 2" off from the title. But is this accurate? My measurement method could be different from factory and it is, or it could be the same and the lengths don't match up. That listing for Chryslers only had outboard models, I've seen it several times, the link it contains goes to inboards in this forum, but none match up. Just wish I could get an I.D. or find some piece of information somewhere that would miraculously lead me to the make and model of this boat!
