Boat hp limit question

I purchased a '68 Aerocraft 15ft trihull, it came with a '62 75hp evinrude, I found the capacity plate and it says 70hp max, Is this going to cause an issue legaly??

Depends on the laws of the state you are in.

In Wisconsin, and some other states, it is illegal to power a boat in excess of the rating plate.

Check your state's boating regulations.

also a motor of that age, its true hp rating is probably closer to 70hp. but then again the makers accounted for 70hp motors rated at the power head
