Hey guys, I have a Sea Ray 190 riding on a galv. trail-rite tandem axle trailer and I am thinking about getting some boat guides. There are so many different ones and I am having trouble deciding which ones to get. The ones I am looking at are:

The last link is the roller style guide. I think this would look the best but can you buy replacement rollers? Will the roller rub while trailering causing discoloration of the hull?

I appreciate your comments and suggestions. Thanks

The only experience I have had is with number one. Simple, yet effective, with no scuffing and more visible than the rollers....

if your keel rollers a setup properly the stearn of the boat will center itself . the guide ons are to help you center until the keel rollers take over,, thus you will have no rubbing.. i took the legs off the old trampolin, and cut them and made the ones for my fishing boat, covered with pvc. just like store bought.

I made my own as tashasdaddy did but I used galvanised pipe from a plumber supply shop the covered with white pvc. The pvc was given to me from the supply store as it was just scrap.

So there are a ton of legless trampolines running around now.

Kinda not what you asked but, I installed some bunk slicks (UHMW or some type of super slick poly material) and I can launch without even starting the motor, and have to keep the drive in gear to load because the boat wants to slide back in the water. Makes loading and unloading a one person process. These are 3" wide by 54" long and screw to bunks. Awesome product

Ditto minus the pvc and plus some pipe insulation. Its great having the light mounted so high........at night I can see them in the rear view and can tell if they are working properly...........plus they don't get dunked.

ILOVEBEER,
Here is apicture of mine(#3above)they are spaced about 1"to 1 1/2" wider than the widest point of the boat, and they don't leave marks on the sides.
they make loading a one man job.

HAha I remember that day. We got 10" of snow that day and part of the next. Normally I am not anywhere near a boat trailer at that time, but was prepping it for a 400 mile trip to pick up a boat.

Thanks for the picture Ken. How long have you had them? Do you think they will crack over time? Can you buy replacement rollers? I was originally leaning toward the rollers but now I am having second thoughts. They do look better than the PVC though. Still unsure. Thanks again!

Re: Boat Guides - Which ones?

I have had them for three seasons now,no problems,no marks, and yes you can get replacement rollers.
but no more than they come in to contact with the boat they should last for ever.
