Well Our Formula 25 PC was on the lift when the cable had snapped and our 7000lb boat when plumitting into the water.Well the boat fell in rough chop and plowed itself through the boat house wall. Then It drifted over to our neighbors dock where it smashed its self up pretty good. all it needs is some fiber glass along the side of the hull. But my question is what kind of damaged could have been done the outdrive. The boat was repowered back in August with a Remanufactured MPI 383 Stroker With a new Bravo One drivewhat Kind of damage could have been done to the drive and engine. It fell about 4ft before it hit water it was also banging up against the neighbors bulk head laying aground. The hull has not been structually damged. So today I Took it out to see if it worked fine and it did. But What should I check Or haved checked. Thanks Dan

A 4' fall into water shouldn't hurt anything at all.

What about it laying aground and getting smashed around.

Impossible to say without actually seeing and inspecting it.

The prop & the gimbal ring come to mind, but if you took it out & didn't feel any unusual vibration, you should be OK.....:)

It sounds like you may have an insurance claim to fix the damage. It may be an idea to get the boat surveyed or inspected to ensure that all the damage is repaired and not missed.

Have a great day,

Rob.
