Hello and welcome to iboats.

Perhaps a bit more info on what you mean by "boat club".

A marina where you keep your own boat?
Or a boat sharing / leasing / or shared ownership club?

Gas used will be dependent on type and size of boat, size of engine, type of engine, speed traveled, distance traveled or hours traveled.

For example, my small boat will run 4 hours at 22 miles per hour, about 80 miles, and use 6 gallons of gas.

My bigger boat will run 4 hours at 22 mph, cover the same 80 miles, but use 20 gallons of gas.
Or, I could run 4 hours at 35 mph, cover more distance, but I would be using 35 gallons of gas.

I'm assuming you mean the monthly subscription boating clubs. We have them here in Nashville. A few hundred bucks a month, and you just call and schedule which boat you want, which day. They are kind of cool in theory, and if you wanted to monkey with bigger boats on occasion, they aren't a bad idea. BUT, for typical 20' boatin' it's cheaper with my trailer boat.

Gas is going to be tough to answer from outside your own area: gas prices here in TN are going to be totally different than where you are. Add the variables that Roscoe mentioned, and then add the different gas docks around where you pick up the boat. Dock gas is always more expensive.

why don't you contact freedom boat club in huntington beach and ask them about costs and any other questions you have?

All that I can tell you is that the 91 octane non-oxy gas here in town is $2.89/gallon right now while marina prices on the lake are $5.50/gallon. I have no clue how many gallons you will use. Boats get terrible mileage so assume you only get a few miles per gallon and then estimate your miles round trip. The boat club might have estimates, or just go hang out at the local marina and strike up some conversations with locals that make that trip routinely.

91 Gasoline is running the same $2.89 here in N. Texas where it's available.....near lakes.

if you are worried about fuel consumption in a boat, time to find another hobby.

boats burn fuel, and without knowing if your renting a 14' row boat with a 10hp tiller or a 30' boat with twin big blocks, its hard to say what your fuel burn is.

for an estimate

if you have an outboard, assume 0.5# of fuel per HP per hr
if you have a spark ignited I/O , assume 0.4# of fuel per HP per hour
if you have a compression ignited I/O or Inboard, assume 0.33# of fuel per HP per hour

and then look at the boat you plan on renting. assume you will be at full throttle for the whole day.

any less fuel burned will be a bonus.
