Boading ladder won't stay up!

Hello,

I have a 1997 Larson SEI 176 and the boarding ladder will not stay up on its own. This is the same type of ladder that is on Glastron bowriders as well where the ladder is mounted to the transom. Currently I have to use a rope to keep it up. Does anyone know to how to fix the ladder so that it will stay up without having to use rope?

Thanks,

Colin

Maybe the little blue pill.:D If its a folding type, you may need to put new ss springs on it.

I use a mesh strap with a single snap on it. We had an old life vest we salvaged the mesh strap from, and simply screwed the snap onto the post. Works great, but out ladder never had the self-locking mechanism. I suppose you might want to inspect the mechanism to see if there are any bent pieces, or obstructions in the way.

Thanks for the replies. I have rope holding up for now and it works fine but was wondering if there was a way to fix the ladder. I will have to inspect it to determine if it is fixable or not.
