Blueband Merc 850 Coils

Hi there<br /><br />My merc 850 with s/n 4366928 seems to lose almost all of its power under load. I suspect it has a bad coil. I've checked everything else and it is either bad leads or bad coil. Can anyone tell me how many coils this motor has and what they are roughly worth new? Thanks.<br /><br />Nial

It has 1 coil by the seriel number, but I doubt thats your problem, if it's breaking down at high speed I might be the rectifier going bad to much voltage) ck for voltage or diconnect and test run before buting a coil

Where and whats the rectifier? and how do i test it?

The rectifier is is a small square heat sink with a diode in it to convert AC voltage to DC follow the 2 yellow wires that come from under the flywheel to it there are 2 yellow and 1 red wire connected to it. You need to buy a manuel one is a must to help in repairs and testing
