Has anyone used Blue Marble 2 Cycle Oil or read anything about this NEW oil. I just finished reading an article about cutting fuel consumption and costs in BASSIN magazine. They had Pro Bass Fishermen, Motor Dealers and BASSIN personnel all testing various ways of cutting fuel consumption and costs.

They tested standard 2 strokes, Green twos and four stroke motors. Weve all read a lot about these motors and know the good and bad of them. The segment that sparked my interest was this Blue Marble 2 Cycle Oil. Texas Tournament Basser Phil Addison with his Merc 225 EFI 2 stroke motor performed the test on this product. It is the only motor additive in the article.

Sterling Technologies, the manufacturer states this oil has proven to
greatly reduce combustion chamber deposits and create an improved seal between the rings and cylinder wall for increased compression
The theory I gather from the article is if the motor is more efficient creating power fuel consumption will drop.

Phil Addisons test was comparing fuel consumption in his weekend tournaments. His results: I estimate my fuel consumption has dropped 25 percent. My early morning starts are a lot quicker, and theres hardly any smoke in the outboards exhaust.

Even though the test wasnt very scientific it does seem worth looking in to. The oil is a premium oil commanding a premium price, $29.99 per gallon. What interests me more than fuel savings was that, it may increase performance, decrease exhaust smoke and it may be better for the motor.

Anyone out there have experience or knowledge of this product? Any comments good or bad? With a little more investigation I may be inclined to try it. I wonder what Mercury or any manufacturer would have to say about it? What do you think?
