Use a 50::1 fuel mix. That is 1 pt of TCW-III 2 cycle oil to 6 gal of gasoline.

Read the "How to awaken a sleeping outboard" sticky post under FAQ

can someone please tell me what to service?? i really need to find out what plugs go in it since the PO has no mechanical skills and just threw something in it...is the above mentioned 50:1 the proper fuel mix??

The only other thing that beats a forum in knowledge is a service manual......

The best investment I made for my merc.

There are grease fitings on the swivel bracket(1), tilt tube(1), PTT(2), tilt lock(1) and 2 on the dissy, if you have one. The steering cable also may have one.

Plugs may be looked up in the champion or NGK application guide. Plugs are either Champ L-76V or L-78V or NGK BUHW or BUHW-2, depending on year. All of these plugs are surface gap.
