Hi I'm trying to figure out why my blower stopped workin and now my bilge pump. Whilst sittin on my driveway not being touched or used. Blower fuse had blown so replaced. And now are fine So are switches. Wiring is in good condition also. I've looked at blower and tried to move the fan manually to see if it would move but doesn't move at all. Is this normal or is it seized and that's why it don't work and also if it is broke would or could it affect the bilge pump also??. Any help is very much appreciated. Cheers daz.

Re: Blower failure?

I always say "boats break sitting on the trailer". No, it is not normal. The blade should easily turn if you can get your finger on it. I had one that sucked in an adhesive price tag and blew a fuse. I didn't figure it out until after I replaced it, now it's my spare. Just the way it goes. It is odd that the bilge pump went at the same time. I am sure it is fused separately. Did it also blow a fuse?

No only the 1 fuse went. It must be the blower that's packed up then. Thanks for your advise I will take it out and test it.

replace the blower then go in to more detail on the bilge pump like if its a auto/manual, does it have a single or 2 way switch etc, can you remove it from the base to check the impellor is jammed etc

Before you go buying new parts; Pull the Pump and the Blower and test them on a bench with a battery.
Then you will know you are replacing the correct parts and not just throwing money at the problem! $$$

If they work on the bench or you find the real problem during the removal, you will have saved your cash and found the actual problem.

The fuses may be okay, but they may not be making good contact with the prongs on the fuse block. Also check all the connections. They have to be clean and tight.
