ok guy's <br /> it's offical.. i suck at fishing with sinking lures. i've tried and tried. i fished where i know that there are fish and with so many diffrent retrives that i am seriously thinking of putting a tutu on my plug to entertain the fish with some ballet. i would have better luck sticking a frying pan out over the side of the boat with a sign on it saying " have mercy..starving fisherman." live bait i kill em, top water plugs i kill em , i could put a 2 month old dead stinky octapus on a fly rod and as long as it floats i will kill em but as soon as it sinks it might as well have a blinking neon sign on it saying " sharp hook here". what is the trick here. if something don't change soon im going to TNT.

You got me, and you got me beat if it doesn't sink I won't catch a thing. Probably just a minor presantation, or lure choice thing though.

I think this is gonna be a bad year for fishing. <br /><br />In the last few years by this time I would have caught at least 500 or so bass, bream, crappie, catfish, etc. This year so far I have a grand total of 11 fish. <br /><br />I have fished just as much this year as in the past on the same lakes and ponds. I am using the same lures and retreives as well as trying some new ones. <br /><br />It must be all the rain or el Nino or something. I guess nature goes in spells like everything else. Next year might be one of those years where you can catch 'em with a bare hook - who knows.<br /><br />One thing is for certain, I am not giving up...

yes derwoodsun, i see that your topwater kung-fu is very good . with underwater bait,,, try becoming one with the bait.. ( being in the crouching tiger mode helps)

ahhh venirable crabbait san. <br /> yes my topwater gung fu is very good. it is said that a shoaFIN preist can walk on water ( when his favorite plug gets caught in a tree) looked for he can not bee seen ( saturday when the wife writes out the honey do list) felt for he can not be touched ( 4 am saturday mornig when wife wants to snuggel... gone fishen) listend for he can not be heard ( when he asks the wife for a 10 spot to go fishen on sunday) these are the ways of a shoaFIN preist.... but my journey is not yet complete. master roe has sent me on a great quest to the top of mt. fuji to study the last style to make my gung fu unbeatable. at the top is shimano tempel. this is where the great shoaFIN master dance teaches this zen fishing style... crouching tiger. master roe says when my training is complete and i snatch the sinker from master dance's hand it will be time for me to leave. it will be a dangerous and difficult journey and i will have to use my gung fu to face the six trials. the crain style (baitfish)crowing rooster style (snook and trout)frog on lotus (bass) drunken master (catfish... shore only)hidden dragon(sneaky fisherman and water roaches) and finaly bouncing monkey (kids and wifes while casting) if i am lucky and keep my witts i will complete my training. <br /> " act after having made asessments. the one who first knows the measure of far and near wins - this is the rule of armed struggle."<br /> sun tzu,the art of war<br /> may wisdom be with you <br /> derwood , shoaFIN preist<br /> P.S. while writting this i got to see my 9 month old son stand for the first time... awwwww

yes it was true. my wife said for me to tear myself away from the computer and look and sure as s##t he was standing there all by himself. i work so much that i don't get to see him do things for the first time to often. if i was'nt here writting to you i might have been outside working on some farm disaster. thanks for the luck myfreind. in a few short years he will be ready to start his training althought drunken master style will have to wait a while. he will make a fine fishing monk.
