I have a 2000 Stratos 21SS that has a 2000 Evinrude 225 FICHT. When I bought the boat about 6 years ago previous owner said that he replaced the head and that it was a 2004. Anywyas took the boat out today and took off running great. Started running like crap after a little bit and then noticed a quarter size hole in the block on the number 2 cylinder I believe. I know the ficht has there problems and so on. So im thinking about just parking the boat and saving up to repower. What are yalls opinions, thoughts, advice, etc on this. Im thinking a 225 Etec. I would like to buy a used engine and take it to a local boat shop and have them do the swap. Another option would be a rebuilt head.
