Bleeding power trim???

I have a 1988 Bayliner with a 3.0 liter OMC Cobra Drive. Im having problems with the power trim. When the lower unit is lowered the motor makes a high pitch whining noise. When raising the lower unit it sounds normal. I checked the fluid level and it was about 6 oz low. I added oil and now suspect there is air in the lines but im unsure how to bleed the lines. Anyone have ideas or know where i can find info on this on the net?? thanks in advance Jason

Try standing on the outdrive while someone trims it up and then down a few times. It worked on an old Merc.

Craig

Re: Bleeding power trim???

Thanks for the reply. I added more oil today and after raising it and lowering it a few times it seems to be working better. I purchased a manual for it and found out that they bleed themselves by raising and lowering them. I might give your idea a go also. Thanks
