Hello, 5.7 /thunderbolt iv and Delco est dissy .With all the pictures I took I still can not confirm where the black wire coming out of the harness goes .For some reason it has a female blade spafe connector on it ,may have been hooked up to electric choke on Edelbrock carb ,but that has a spade connector on it going to ground , obviously its a ground being that its black .Black wire coming fronm the engine harness

Seems a pretty common occurrence. I got my present boat last year and it had one. I have no idea what it went to but I hooked it up to the nearest known good ground and nothing blew up..

These are two completely different ignition systems. Thunderbolt module will not work with a Delco distributor nor vice versa

Sounds like you have taken a lot of pics? Post some of your ignition system, mainly the distributor and one or two of the black wire in question

I don't know if MC added extra wires for possible accessories. I had a bunch of colored and black grounds. I grounded the black ones, and nothing smoked. Thank God.
