Black Scorpion double start issue

Hey guys, I have a 2001 sanger v210 with the 5.7 black scorpion engine. The boat runs fantastic except for one small issue. When I go to start it I have to hold the key and let the boat start and then die and then start again. If I try to start it normally it will fire up and then just die, and then it is very difficult to get started again. But if I hold the key and let it start--die--start it will stay running and never miss a beat. I have asked every mechanic around here and nobody has any idea what it is. Any help would be great!! corroded ign switch ?
Hot wire the coil, jump the slave solenoid and see if it still does it. Yes= in the engine., No= in the wiring

I will try that test this weekend. It seems to me that it is too consistent to be the ignition switch. It does it every single time I start it without fail. It never changes or varies. You would think that it would be more sporadic and intermittent it if was that.
